First day at IIM Lucknow

From the moment I boarded my flight from Hyderabad to Lucknow, I was excited and anxious to reach the IIML campus as soon as possible. After having left the city of Nizams on a rainy day, it was quite a shock for me the moment I landed in the city of Nawabs. The mercury levels were beyond 40, I guess. The sun was in its full glare. Anyways, the heat could not lower my anxiety to get to the campus. An hour’s ride and I was on the gates of Hell. As I entered, on the road across, there was a big statue of Lord Krishna as charioteer of Arjuna on the left and Mahatma Gandhi leading the Dandi March on right. So I had finally arrived at Hell.
The first thing to do after reaching the campus was to get a room. It took a couple of hours before I was finally in my room after completing all the formalities and now it was time to explore the campus. Apart from the academic buildings and hostels, the campus was full of trees and there was lot of greenery all around. I was sure that come rains and it would be an awesome view of the mother nature.
The favorite spot of the students, as I figured out was Just Tea – a students’ venture(though it sells a lot more products than just tea these days) and Gossips & Bytes. I had heard about a new sports complex which was inaugurated a few days ago and it was time to check that out now. As expected, the facilities were truly world class there especially the swimming pool and an air conditioned gym, and wow they had a snooker table as well. I thought that life might not be that tough in Hell but it was to be decided in the days to come.
